Horse on Course
June 25-26 was the first outdoor show of the season at Horse on Course for Skip and Emily. They won the George Duffy Memorial Hunter Classic with a combined score of 151 on Saturday. On Sunday, they won Champion in Low Adult Hunter, placing 1st in all three classes. This team went on that day to win 2nd place in the Horse on Course Equitation Derby. It was a great weekend!!
August 12-14 was the MHJA Endless Summer Horse show at Horse on Course Equestrian Center. It was by far the largest show that they'd been too yet. Saturday morning classes went well and were huge with more than 30 competitors in each class. Later that evening was the $250 Hunter Derby. The fences were super fancy and the course very difficult but they pulled through with a 3rd place. Sunday morning dawned with sloppy wet footing after a night of rain. Turns out Skip loves mud and happily splashed around the course. They won Champion in Low Adult Hunters with a 1st, 2nd and 5th. It was another great and enjoyable weekend showing.
Special thanks to Jess for hauling Skip to the shows!
Congratulations to Sabrina Perilli!
Sabrina won four riding classes and was the Grand Champion Showman at the Hookstown Fair last week.
Blue Ribbon Farms Rocks the 2011 All American Youth Horse Show
An unbelievable performance by the BRF show team at this years AAYHS held in Colombus, Ohio with 37 top eight placings including 4 blue ribbons. This is the largest all breed youth show in the United States and as usual the competition was fierce. You better be on your A game when you compete there and BRF came ready to show.
The Fisher girls started there AAYHS experience on top. Leighann Fisher earned a first place in Hunter Under Saddle Pony and third in Western Pleasure Pony both with Maddie. Sarah Fisher and Ebby earned a first place in Walk Trot Western Showmanship, third place in Walk Trot Western Pleasure , fifth place in Walk Trot Trail and they finished with a sixth place in the Walk Trot Champion Western Showmanship. Hard to beleive that this was the first big show they had ever competed in. Great job!!!
This was the second year for the Ingram family and wow were they ready! Tori finished first with Dandy in the Western Pleasure Horse No Registered Quarter or Paints. She had an absolutely incredible ride to a third place out of 41 horses in the Western Pleasure 13 year old class and was sixth out of 56 horses in Trail with Dandy. She also showed Chip and earned a sixth place in Western Pleasure Pony, sixth place in Western Showmanship Pony, and a sixth place in English Showmanship Pony. Noah had an equally exciting and productive show finishing first with Chip in 18 & under Trail Pony and a a sixth in 12 & under Western Showmanship. A third with Hershey in 12 & under Trail horse. He was fourth in 13 & under Mens Western Pleasure with Sadie, fifth in Western Showmanship 10 year old and a seventh in English Showmanship.
Paige Prawucki had a great debut in games with Ravin Splash placing fifth in 13 & under barrels. After a scary start in the poles when her horse slipped on the pavement coming down the shoot and fell on her injuring her elbow, she pulled herself together and ran the fastest time of the class by a second and a half but unfortunately hit a pole still placing seventh. She had a great ride on Maddie placing second in Hunter Under Saddle Pony 13 - 15 year olds. Mom Karen taking it all in stride like the horseshow professional that she has become.
Hannah Shepler as usual did a fantastic job finishing second in Hunter Under Saddle Pony 16 - 18 year olds, third in Hunt Seat Equitation Pony, fourth in Western Pleasure Pony with Maddie. Second with Chip in English Showmanship and fifth in Western Horsemanship Pony. She was also sixth in Western Showmanship and eight in Western Pleasure with Sadie.
Blake Sirko only owning her new horse Brett for one month was in the ribbons by placing seventh in the Western Pleasure Horse No Registered Quarter or Paint class. That was the first time she ever showed him! She was also seventh in Pony Poles with her games pony Peppy. Way to go Blake!
Julie Egyud had a smoking pole run on Wilson to place seventh in pony poles. She also had some really nice classes with her brand new horse Zip. This was her first show with him. Nothing like starting at the top!
The Swogger Family had a good show with Colton placing eight with Ebby in Western Showmanship, he did a great job by making it to the finals with Desi in the largest Hunter Under Saddle class with 47 horses. Not bad for showing english for the first time! Melaina placed sixth with Echo in English Showmanship. Dillon showed a new horse for the first time in barrels, he gave it a good try but Dillon and Buster still have some work to do.
Laura Vogel's first AAYHS performance with her brand new horse Ben was solid. They just need a little more time together and look out.
Forrest Swoagger got off to a bang at his first AAYHS by placing fifth in pony barrels with his pony Molly.
Sarah Timmerman and her new horse Ella did two really clean showmanship patterns at her very first show ever! I expect lots of ribbons in the future for these two!!! It was really a pleasure to have Sarah, her mom Suzanne and Grandma Sally join our show team.
Sabrina Perilli had a beautiful Hunter Under Saddle Class with her new horse Pache. She has been working so hard and it paid off, they looked really great.
All in all it was a fantastic show and we are extremely proud of everyone. Thanks to Connie, Jess, Lauren and all of the parents who tirelessly worked to make this a wonderful experience.
2010 Show Season Review
Again, we had a very successful show season earning hundreds of ribbons. The following highlights show just some of the special accomplishments!
Less than a week after returning from the youth show we were off to the Hookstown fairgrounds for the Silver Spurs annual all game show on May 29th. The game riders all did well and the show was well attended. The pleasure riders helped work the show and fun was had by all.
June 6th was the first show of the series held at Camp Aura by the Sundowners 4-H. Pam, Colleen and Millie all did well and it was a good show for Dan and French Fry. Noah won his first blue ribbon while barrel racing aboard Hooker.
June 12 & 13th we attended the first Silver Spurs two day show held at the fairgrounds. We always enjoy these shows as it allows us to take everyone that chooses to go. The fairgrounds are only 10 miles from home and since we can move in Friday, we can get everyone there. This years show was again a big success and everyone did well. Our High Point earners were as follows:
Walk/Trot: Noah Ingram with Zip Lika Mercedes 12 & Under High Point Pleasure: Tori Ingram with McEcho Res. High Point 12 & Under Pleasure: Paige Prawucki with Sonny Res. High Point Pleasure 13-17: Blake Sirko with DZ's Dakota High Point Open Contest: Pam Kendrew with Poke Res. High Point Open Contest: Colleen Karnes with Jack
July we were back to Camp Aura where again we had a great day. Millie and Splash were once again superstars. Dan, Pam and Colleen also did a great job.
July 24 & 25th we returned to Hookstown for the second two day Silver Spurs show. Again well attended, great turnout and lots of fun for both the kids and their parents. High Point earners were as follows:

16 horses attended and competed at the Hookstown Fair the week of August 23-27th. As always, everyone had a blast and all the horses were shown during the week did super. Since there was a show each day, there are too many awards to list but all did well!
(not that the fair was not enough, Pam and Colleen joined up with Emily and headed for the Buckeye Horse Park Hunter Pace on Sunday the 28th!)
September 10 & 11th were the District Show dates and the results were previously posted.
September 19th we were off to North Park for NAHA's last show of the season. Congratulations to Paige Prawucki with Pardons Sonny who not only won the Seaman Memorial Pleasure Stakes Class winning a beautiful glass trophy, but also won the High Point Youth.
Throughout the summer we also hauled Noah to the Washington County Shows sponsored by the Silver Saddles Riding Club where he earned the High Point Walk-Trot for the season!
Rounding out the season, Chris hauled Emily to Valencia to compete at the Horse On Course Hunter Show. After about a 10 year hiatus from the arena, Emily proved she still has what it takes winning several second place finishes aboard Skip Past during their first competition together. Emily would love to return and we are planning to place these events on our regular show schedule for 2011.
We also have a star fox hunter in the barn! Ann Ridley regularly attends fox hunts. Not sure how many foxes they find, but she and Roscoe always seem to have a blast. Tally Ho, Ann!!
